The Esda Nursing Education Institution NPC is a private higher education and training institution that focuses on the training of Auxiliary nurses in the health care industry.

Esda is proud to declare that our teaching is Christ-centered and in accordance with principles of the Bible!

History:

The school started in the early 1980s training nursing assistants. In November 1993 the training was formalised and standardised with the publishing of Regulation 2176 by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and the Esda Nursing Education Institution was registered by the (SANC) South African Nursing Council.

As one of the frontrunners in Private Nursing Education today we are one of only a handful accredited nursing schools in South Africa to offer the Higher Certificate in nursing.

Our Vision:

BY GOD’S GRACE WE ARE STRIVING TO REFLECT HIS CHARACTER THROUGH EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES THAT WILL ENABLE LEARNERS TO ATTAIN FULL POTENTIAL IN THE HEALTH PROFESSION AS WELL AS PERSONALLY.

Our Mission:

The Esda Nursing Education Institution (ENEI) is a Christian based, dynamic and nurturing learning provider that supports the growth and aspirations of its learners through purposeful interaction among staff and learners that emphasizes the active construction and application of knowledge and skills to promote education and training excellence, equity and opportunity to provide quality nursing care, spiritual and social upliftment to those in need.

Our Philosophy and Core values:

As both art and science, nursing is oriented to the provision of care that promotes the well-being of the people it serves. Nurses intervene to strengthen human responses to internal and external stressors in order to restore, maintain and/or promote the optimal state of health or facilitate a peaceful death. The ENEI hold as essential values, personal and professional integrity and respect for all persons with core values of caring, integrity, diversity and excellence. These core values are vital components in the development of a nurse and are emphasized in our programs. It includes love of God, caring with components of compassion, competence, confidence, conscience and commitment (commitment to a culture of excellence, discipline, integrity, and professionalism), as well as love of people and respect for the dignity of each person regardless of creed, color, gender, religion and political affiliation. It is aimed at improving the health of individuals, families, communities and populations in order to deliver a holistic health approach.  Furthermore the nurse must collaborate with the multi – disciplinary health care teams which are an innate part of professionalism.

As we see education is a life-long process we aim to create a climate that fosters continuous learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and professional accountability. Our philosophy is congruent with the mission of the ENEI that it is a Christian based, dynamic and nurturing learning provider that supports the growth and aspirations of its learners through purposeful interaction among staff and its learners that emphasizes the active construction and application of knowledge and skills to promote education and training excellence, equity and opportunity to provide quality nursing care, spiritual and social upliftment to those in need.
