The new Higher Certificate in nursing (R169) commenced in January 2021.
Qualification
The Higher Certificate in nursing (SAQA ID 99330) (NQF Level 5)
Students can study the 1-year qualification leading to registration as an auxiliary nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
After the successful completion of their qualification at the school all students will have to write the board examinations to practice set by the South African Nursing Council.
Mode of instruction:
All programmes will be conducted in English.
Students will attend classes at the Esda Nursing Education Institution according to a theoretical contact session program.
Clinical component:
Clinical practica will be done at the following South African Nursing Council accredited clinical facilities:
Heidelberg Provincial Hospital.
Rus ‘n Bietjie Home for the Aged.
Various municipal clinics on the East Rand
The Institution as well as the Clinical component is very accessible to the Learner. A taxi and train service infra-structure is in place.
